Turkey's first and only student team to launch a hybrid-propelled rocket.
Pars Rocket Group has been operating under Istanbul Technical University's Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics since 2012, standing as Turkey's first and only student team to launch its own hybrid-propelled rocket.
Pars continues to rapidly advance its R&D efforts to contribute to Turkish rocketry and achieve full independence in this field for our country.
Pars Rocket Group was established in May 2012 under Istanbul Technical University's Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
A domestic test stand was designed for ground performance tests of rocket engines, and Turkey's first civilian rocket launch pad was produced. Many teams besides Pars successfully conducted launches using this pad.
Pars Rocket Group represented our country for the first time in this competition with their two-stage rocket SOMA in the advanced category.
Following intensive efforts, Pars participated in IREC 2015 with their rocket named GÖKÇEN and was commended for its successful flight.
With their rocket İSTİKLAL, Pars Rocket Group achieved a significant success by outperforming universities like MIT, CalTech, and Yale at IREC 2016.
Invited to this defense exhibition due to past successes, Pars had the opportunity to present their achievements and plans to various industry leaders. Additionally, they secured 3rd place at Spaceport America Cup 2017.
In 2018, Pars made a significant contribution to Turkish rocketry by developing "SONUS", Turkey's first hybrid rocket engine. The ANADOLU-2 rocket powered by SONUS was launched in 2018, marking a milestone in Turkish rocketry history.
Pars Rocket Group pioneered the preparation of Teknofest Rocket Competition regulations starting in 2018 and served as judges alongside Roketsan engineers.
During the 2020 Teknofest Satellite Competition, satellites were entrusted to Pars rockets, and we successfully delivered all payloads to specified altitudes through 22 successful flights. This number is considered a record according to unofficial sources.
We progressed in R&D for our most powerful rocket engine to date. During this process, we redesigned the test stand for our new engine. We conducted 12 ignition tests within a month, pushing our stand's operational capacity to peak performance.
R&D continued throughout 2023 on our hybrid rocket engine. Finalized by late summer, İSTİKBAL was successfully launched at Aksaray Salt Lake on September 15th. Thus, Pars Rocket Group maintained its status as Turkey's only student team flying with its own engine, repeating this success with İstikbal and demonstrating hybrid rocket engine capabilities for the second time.
Pars Rocket Group has maintained a reliable partner program since its establishment.
As Pars Rocket Group, we develop innovative projects in space and aviation - key components of our national technology mobilization - while nurturing engineers who will shape our country's future. You can become part of this national mission by supporting us, taking your place in our achievements that proudly carry Turkey's name!
