ATA-2 is a rocket designed by PARS Rocket Group with a solid propellant engine, carrying a scientific payload.
ATA-2 uses the Aerotech Rocketry M1845NT-PS engine and has a total impulse of 8307 N.s. Its maximum speed is 0.86 Mach, and it is designed to reach an altitude of 10,075 feet.
The engine burns for 4.40 seconds and produces 2434 N of instantaneous thrust.
The rocket body and fins are made of fiberglass material. The nose cone is made of carbon fiber and follows the Haack Von Karman profile. It has a wall thickness of 1.5 mm and a diameter of 160 mm.
The rocket consists of three body sections, each 1000 mm long. Its inner diameter is 156 mm and outer diameter is 160 mm.
The parachute system uses a semi-pyro CO2-based separation mechanism. The parachutes are made of ripstop fabric and are compressed inside the body weighing 3.8 kg and measuring 160 mm in diameter.
The rocket is equipped with a 6-channel avionics system and uses an SPI-interface RF communication system.
The main processor is an Arduino MEGA 2560. The channels are controlled using MOSFETs.
